Why Should I Get A Mold Inspection

Mold can lead to various health problems, with indoor allergies being the most prevalent. Individuals who are particularly susceptible to mold include children, seniors, and those with weakened immune systems. Don't let mold impact your family's well-being. We provide both air and swab sampling options.

Specialized Equipment

We use specialized equipment to identify areas of excessive humidity or moisture that can lead to the growth of mold. In addition, our inspectors are trained in air sampling protocols, allowing them to collect samples from various parts of the property for detailed analysis.

Types of Mold Sampling

  • Air Samples can be taken in any room and will indicate if any, what type and how many mold spores are in the air.

  • Surface Samples can be taken off a surface. The test will show whether or not the growth is mold and what type it is. Both swab samples and Bio-tape are used during our inspections when surface mold is present.

Air Sampling For Mold & Airborne Particulates

Air sampling for mold is conducted to determine the presence of an elevated level of mold spores in your home. This is achieved by collecting air samples inside your home for testing and comparing them to samples taken from outside your home, serving as control samples.

Ideally, the concentration of mold spores inside your home should be lower than that outside your home. It is important to note that there are no established standards for indoor mold growth, and the interpretation of results largely relies on the inspector's experience and training.

As a result, the inspector conducts a visual examination of the property in addition to air sampling to assess whether a mold issue exists in your home or business.

Surface Sampling For Mold

Surface sampling for mold is typically conducted when visible mold or suspected mold is present.

There are two common methods for taking a surface sample: the Tape Lift sample involves placing bio-tape over the suspected area and retrieving the sample, while the Swab sample uses a sterile swab rolled over the area and preserved in a gel-containing container.

These methods should be performed by a trained mold inspector due to their limitations, and a testing plan can only be developed after a thorough mold inspection.

Following completion of testing, the samples are sent to a certified laboratory for analysis.
